George Moore is the new Administrator at the Royal Scottish Forestry Society having replaced Jo Maynard. Jo is moving to Abu Dhabi, with the family, to be with her husband in his new job there. We wish them the very best of fortune and thank Jo for a job well done.
George is a banker by background and having retired from that, early after a very successful career, is now a Forestry Consultant and independent entrepreneur.
George joined the Royal Scottish Forestry Society in 2012 when he was “spotted” by the RSFS Director at the Stewartry Show. George moved rapidly into the Society becoming Regional Secretary SW & NI Region. He then joined Council. At the same time he studied for and received FdSc with Merit. Certainly not a man to sit idle, which was witnessed by his inaugurating both the RSFS Annual Raffle and Annual Clay Shoot.
When asked of his immediate plans for the new job, he said; “I’ve a few wee ideas”. Watch this space Royal Scottish Forestry Society!
George will be assisted by his wife, Emma who also runs her own business. The Society could not ask for more proactive members. We look forward to a long and beneficial partnership. The future, as they say, starts now! Pictured below is the handover between George and Jo.
