RSFS COVID-19 update

Check here for updates  All upcoming RSFS events cancelled

In line with government guidance on Covid-19, we have decided to cancel all Royal Scottish Forestry Society events from now to the end of July.  Like many other bodies, we are taking this action to stop unnecessary travel and to protect both vulnerable people and the wider population.

This applies to regional field days, the annual study tour and training workshops.  We are grateful to the many woodland owners and managers who offered to host events for RSFS.  We hope these postponed events can be reinstated once circumstances allow.  We will contiune to follow government advice and provide updates here.

Learning is one of the fundamental objectives of the Society.  Learning at all levels among the young, the students, those working in forestry and helping pass on the experience of those who are more mature.

The RSFS sponsors awards and prizes for students who achieve academic success.  We recognise vocational success through awards.  In the young we are developing our website to support education about trees and forestry and are looking for contributions.  Our annual excursion and regular regional field trips all promote learning through visiting forests, foresters and those supporting the industry.

Our most powerful learning offering to members is Scottish Forestry which publishes news about the Society, the Regional groups, articles from general interest to peer reviewed academic articles.

Get involved, help us to help others learn.
