Description:
This training day offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of how to plan for climate change.
Led by research experts, the morning will consist of an overview of the six climate risks (flooding, pest and diseases, wildfire, frost, with a deep dive into drought and windthrow). Participants will be able to learn about the latest research as well as engage in discussions to exchange experiences and knowledge.
In the afternoon we will explore resources for resilience, based around the new Climate Change Hub, and participants will be able to work on the creation of a priority action plan.
Whether you work in woodland management, conservation, or arboriculture, this workshop will enhance your ability to take mitigating actions to counter the increasing risks from climate change.

Attendance at this event counts towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training hours.
Objectives:
- To encourage participants to think about climate change risks
- To learn about latest forestry research into climate change
- To engage in discussion with other forestry professionals about how some of these risks can be mitigated
- To create an action plan to apply some of the research outputs into local action
