Meet Jane Gibson, an RSFS individual member.
Since joining the RSFS early in my forestry career I have met a wide range of people, each connected to the industry in different ways including work, craft, study or simply an interest in trees and woodland management.
The forestry sector is vast, and it is easy to get caught up in one particular niche however through the RSFS I have met and read about others in the industry which I may not have had the opportunity to meet.
The field days are a great way to learn about different woodlands and management objectives. The wealth of knowledge and experience is clear to see and the days are a great source of insightful discussion. Between field days, The Kernel newsletter is a vital resource in helping to keep me up to date with recent developments all in one place.
I would recommend the RSFS to anyone who is interested in trees and woodlands to join as a great way to keep up to date in an ever-changing industry and to meet others with a shared passion for trees.
