Event Cancellation Policy

The Royal Scottish Forestry Society - Event Cancellation Policy

Member Responsibility
All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to membership@rsfs.org.uk

Cancellation Deadlines

• Skills Workshops and Annual Study Tour
• Cancellations received 14 days or more prior to the event will receive a full refund.
• Cancellations received 7–13 days prior to the event will receive a 50% refund.
• Cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the event are non-refundable.
• Regional Field Days
• Most of our Regional Field Days are free for members, but occasionally there will be a fee for taking part.
• Cancellations received 7 days or more prior to the event will receive a full refund.
• Cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the event are non-refundable.
• Online events
• Online events are free.
• If you are unable to attend, please email membership@rsfs.org.uk so we can monitor event numbers, which may require a minimum to run.

Substitutions
If you are unable to attend, you may send a substitute attendee at no additional cost. Please notify us at least 48 hours before the event. A member sending a non-member in their place to a paid event will be liable to a surcharge.

Event Cancellation by RSFS
In the unlikely event that the RSFS cancels a paid event, all registered participants will receive a full refund.

No-Shows
Participants who do not attend and have not cancelled in accordance with this policy will forfeit all fees.

Exceptional Circumstances
Refunds outside these terms may be considered at the discretion of RSFS in cases of medical emergencies or other extenuating circumstances.

We are committed to reviewing our policy and good practice annually.
